2026-02-22.3_reflection on ‘changing tendencies’ - desire

reflection on / expansion of 2026-02-14_changing tendencies text: reflecting more deeply on what is needed / what the necessary elements to change a tendency are, i think there is one that must come ‘before’ even faith (in the schematic realm). and that element is desire. the desire to change the tendency at all must ‘precede’ the faith that it can be changed, the knowledge of how to change it & the practice that makes that change (possible) reality.

the reason i didn’t mention desire in the previous fragment is because i took its presence for granted. but reflecting on it while thinking about how/what is necessary to establish a culture of faith, knowledge, and practice based on solidarity, care, empathy, and freedom, i realize desire is a key requisite. a requisite that, to give an example (based on personal experience), liberals lack to a dizzying, infuriating & dangerous degree.
